Holistic Psychotherapy

Hi, I'm Ali.

I help teens (15+) & adults, living with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma, feel more alive, more at ease, and more in alignment with their true, authentic selves.

  • Are you stressed, burnt out, anxious, or depressed?
  • Do you feel like you're moving through life in a daze, or on the other hand, always on edge?
  • Do you feel like you need to learn better coping skills?
  • Are you navigating a tough life transition?
  • Do you feel like there is past trauma you have yet to heal?
  • Are you ready to have more emotional resiliency so you can handle difficult emotions and situations with ease?
  • Are you ready to feel more content, happy, and relaxed?
  • Are you ready to feel more connected to your true self?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I can help.

You might be asking, what is holistic psychotherapy anyways?

Holistic Psychotherapy incorporates the mind, body, spirit, and nervous system in its approach to healing. It's not just talk therapy but a combination of somatic and mindfulness-based therapies as well. If you're into it, we'll incorporate spiritual elements too.

What is Somatic Therapy? Somatic therapy operates off the idea that what happens to you in your life is stored not only in your mind but also in your body. By focusing on both the physical sensations in your body and the memories and thoughts associated, it is a comprehensive approach to therapy.

What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to what's happening in the present moment, on purpose, without judgement. Mindfulness can help us create awareness around our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Mindfulness is a powerful tool toward self-transformation. We can't heal what we aren't aware of.

What are the Spiritual elements? Spirituality is an optional element to therapy and is unique to each person. We can incorporate elements from your own spiritual practice (if you have one) or I can help you find spiritual practices that resonate with you. Zen Buddhism, Yoga philosophy and other eastern philosophies have transformed my life and influence the work that I do.

These modalities combined can help you soothe distressing feelings and emotions, so you can approach life with more purpose and ease. I can help you understand your mind, body, and nervous system like never before.

The Flash Technique. I also offer a therapy called The Flash Technique (FT). "FT is a therapeutic intervention for reducing the disturbance associated with traumatic or other distressing memories. Unlike many conventional trauma therapy interventions, FT is a minimally intrusive option that does not require you to consciously engage with the traumatic memory. This allows you to process traumatic memories without feeling distress.

Originally developed as an addition to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), FT has been demonstrated to be effective in reducing the disturbance level associated with severely painful memories, sometimes in as little as ten to fifteen minutes. Like EMDR, FT utilizes eye movements or alternating tapping and is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain." (https://flashtechnique.com/wp/)

More about me, Ali...

I am a licensed social worker, therapist, and yoga/meditation teacher. As a therapist, I believe in the benefit of genuine human connection and care deeply about my clients. Therapy is hard work but it can also be rewarding, fun, and fulfilling.

We will work together to help you make peace with your past and prepare for your future, all while staying connected to the present moment.

I also have a sweet rescue dog named Brady, who often accompanies me in the therapy room. We are excited to meet you!
